Volunteer
The chorus welcomes non-singing volunteers to do things like working the front of the house (usher, sell tickets or merchandise), help on various chorus committees(see below), Graphic design, stage management, set design, Choralography, choral music arrangement, and other activities just let us know what you bring to the table and we will be glad for you to help TPMC. As a non-performing member of TPMC, you would be listed in the chorus programs and receive invitations to chorus social events. This is another great way to make a contribution to the success of TPMC ... and meet some pretty great guys. Here is a list of our standing committees and the task they do during the year
Event operations
- Getting Tickets printed
- Managing the distribution and collection of money from presales tickets to board/singers
- Keeping track of color guard list and issuing ticket vouchers based on number of complimentary tickets they receive.
- Selling of tickets at TPMC events
- Managing will call list for presales tickets from web site
- Finding volunteers to assist with events as ticket sellers (2), ticket takers (2), ushers (2) will call (1)
- Managing the selling of TPMC CD (1) during events
- Any decorations for lobby
- Refreshments during intermission at events
- Manage box office selling tickets & will call table at events
- Work with fundraising to provide support for fundraising events when needed
Grants
- Search for grants that support the activities/future of TPMC
- Apply for grants
- Create necessary documentation or work with other committees to create needed documents to assist with grant submissions.
- Make grant presentations when needed
- Submit reports to board on status of new grants or as grants are approved or denied
Fundraising
- Find new fundraising activities
- Research fundraising activities and estimate expenses and expected profit
- Make presentations to the board for approval
- Responsible for the executions of fundraising activity
- Search and secure underwriters/sponsors for events to offset cost in order to maximize profit
- Coordinate with marketing on promotion of events
- Coordinate with event operations if such resources are needed
- Present fundraising activity to singers and what they need to do as part of the activity
Marketing
- Work with music/production committee on concert titles, art work, posters, PSA, any other advertisement
- Sends name and address updates to the database manager before each mailing.
- “Peel and stick” labels on postcards and annual fundraising mailing.
- Manages bulk mailings
- Prepare the annual fundraising letter, get it printed and mailed out
- Hire a graphic designer for concert and fundraising art work. Work with the artist, givethem ideas for the art work
- Get quotes from several printing sources and send the art work to the printer and pick it up when completed
- Put up posters in concentrated locations where they will be seen
- Write press releases and PSAs (Public Service Announcements) and send out via email
- Follow-up on press release recipients, urging them to carry the press release.
- Prepare surveys for concert audience when the need is decided upon
- Prepare the concert program
- Initiate any new beneficial advertising strategies such as folders, etc. to send with grant applications or potential corporate sponsors
- Work with fundraising committee on advertisement plan for events
Music/Production
- Show Themes/Concepts
- Long Range show planning two years out
- Music research for shows
- Selection of music for each show
- Creating Rehearsal Schedule
- Working with arrangers when needed
- Working with ASCAP and filing our quarterly reports
- Obtain music permissions (perform/ arrange/ revoice) as needed
- Developing production guide for each show
- Choralography for each show
- Concert venues selection and contracts for each concert event
- Video/Photos of shows for historic purposes
- Hiring someone to Audio record concert
- Piano and equipment rentals as needed
- Music Library
- Acquiring any Props for concerts
- Acquiring any Costumes for concerts
- Find volunteer to act as Stage Manager
- Find volunteer to act as Technical production Manager
